Say Hay Key

The second symbol ‘seen’ by Dr Usui in his vision is pronounced ‘Say Hay Key’, with the meaning of ‘God and Man become One’ and ‘Key to the Universe’. The coming together of God and Man, becoming One with the Divine, under the guidance of the ‘Cho Ku Rey’ and our ‘key’ now unlocks the door to infinite Universal Energy; we know, therefore we are illuminated.

The origins of this symbol and the intentions with which it is worked with vary from one Master or Practitioner to another, dependent upon the knowledge that they have unlocked with their ‘keys’. Many hold to Dr Usui being the source and work with it to restore balance to both the mental and emotional bodies, whilst Kathleen Milner offers us her belief that the symbol that we know is but one half of the true symbol, (KathleenMilner.com). Dig a little deeper again and we find that the ‘Say Hay Key’, is by others, believed to be, ‘a stylised form of the Sanskrit Siddham script character, known in Japan as ‘Kiriku’’ (aetw.org) and that this ‘Kiriku’ is the sacred sign of a 1,000 armed form of the Bodhisatva Kanzeon, known in Japan as the Lord of Compassion. For myself, it was this latter line of enquiry that drew me in and led me ultimately to experience the teachings of a very, very beautiful energy.

Who or what is Bodhisatva Kanzeon? In Japan, as stated above, it is the name given to the Lord of Compassion, an Ascended Master who postponed Buddhahood until everyone attained Ascension. In China, this Master is known as Guan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy, and in Tibet as Chenrezig, of whom, the Dali Llama is the Earthly incarnation. He/She made a vow to hear to hear all the peoples of the World and to grant salvation to the suffering. Both Kanzeon and Guan Yin have 1,000 armed forms with which they perform their many acts of compassion, serving humanity until the last soul has been freed from Samsara, the cycle of suffering.

Do we invoke this benign and loving presence when we draw or visualise this symbol? Is this a name for the frequency of Energy that assists with bringing to the surface deep-rooted emotional issues to be acknowledged and resolved? When another sits with you in your pain with no judgement, no expectation, and gifts you only with Love, it heals the heart in a way that nothing else can. To be loved when we feel at our worst allows barriers to crumble in an instant. We find the courage to ‘own’ our mistakes, to take responsibility for our thoughts and actions and to forgive those that we have blamed, realising that we had our own parts to play in allowing behaviours and situations to occur. We ‘own’ our choices and their consequences and in that moment, accept of the entirety of ourselves and be at peace with it. It is the ultimate act of Compassion that we can offer ourselves and all it takes is the blessing of Love. Too many times in all our lives have we felt that we have had to justify, to explain or to apologise for expressing our pain and suffering and the resentment at the shame we feel in doing so only causes our wounds to fester. Acceptance from another quiets the Ego in a way that nothing else can and most magically of all, awakens us to the concept that we can accept ourselves exactly as we are, in each and every moment. The comfort of knowing this restores a sense of our own self-worth as by acknowledging the pain of the Ego, we allow it to learn and grow. We remember and return to the teachings of the Cho Ku Rey, and if we allow it, it joins with the energy of the Say Hay Key to illuminate the teachings of both with even greater light. The Compassion that is the energy of the Say Hay Key unlocks the door into a deeper understanding of our own Power, by calming and reassuring our Egos enough to feel safe in learning a new way of being. The acceptance of ourselves, even when we are at our worst, without judgement dissolves the debilitating fear of exposure. When we accept all our behaviours and choices and the ensuing consequences, we take a huge step towards the Mastery of ourselves. We find the courage to observe ourselves and start to recognise recurring patterns of behaviour. We begin to question why we react in certain ways and this curiosity leads us into a deeper examination so that we can pinpoint the root causes of our original distresses that created these reactive patterns. The more we step back and observe, the more refined our observations become. We gain the mental clarity necessary to achieve emotional clarity. We see more clearly than ever before that our much-derided Egos are our lonely and abandoned inner child that is desperately calling challenging situation after challenging situation to ourselves in an attempt to show us how much we need our own Love. With the experiment of Separation Consciousness, we were sundered from our higher selves and rebirthed into the Void as children with no guidance or knowledge and we have created in fear ever since, or at least, until this Now.

When we acknowledge the entirety of this experience and the level of pain that we have endured we cannot but awaken our own Compassion towards ourselves and for the first time in eons, our abandoned child feels the loving touch of a Parent again and we can finally start to face and heal all our hurt. We continue to observe ourselves and we lose our attachment to the ‘Personal’ as our Ego learns firstly that not everything and then eventually that nothing, is Personal. Mental clarity becomes second nature as does the growing warmth of inner peace. We see situations and events as learning tools for our growth rather than personal attacks and we do learn. With Love and Compassion for ourselves we transform our experience from learning through suffering to learning through joy and gain even greater understanding of the scale of our own power through what we manifest in our lives by our observation and response to it rather than our reaction to it. We gain full mastery over our emotions and then we understand and know that our new reality does not require us to find meaning in anything that occurs to us. Some have termed this the ‘Ego Death’ but I prefer to describe it as the Ego having grown up and mastered itself, allowing the return of the Higher Self and the unifying of our Souls. The resulting outcome is a very precious inner peace, a calm knowingness that transcends us out of everyday cares no matter what occurs. We love ourselves, deeply and unconditionally, and our Power becomes exponential.

It is only when we learn to love ourselves that we can truly love others and this is the final request of the Say Hay Key. This God/Goddess of Compassion, if we allow, is willing to become our very own and most loving foster parent and remind us of who we truly are to help us decide who we now wish to become. He/She vowed to hear the call of all humanity, and will honour each and every plea for help. Our only task is to let this energy in. As we accept ourselves, we accept others, and we find ourselves sharing more and more of the energy of this Ascended Master’s value of Compassion. The one pair of hands that became a thousand becomes many thousands more as we allow ourselves to resonate with the light of the Compassionate One. Our own fields of energy emit the light of loving kindness and roots it thoroughly into our new realities. As we nurture ourselves and others, all grow and blossom and Love, not Fear, becomes our World. By healing the separation within, it heals the separation without – when we become One, all become One.

With much Love xxx
